CPU's

AMD 486DX

Some of the very early AMD 486DXs might hang in special situations. Current chips is OK. It should not be a problem to get a chip replaced should not be a problem.

ULSI Math*Co

This CPU has a bug in the instructions FSAVE and FRSTORE that causes problems with all proctec mode operating systems. Some older IIT and Cyrix chips might have this problem too.

Pentium

Everyone would be aware of the Pentium Math Co-processor flow that make miss-calculations. Contact Intel for a replacement.

Serial controllers

NS16550

The National semiconductors NS16550 have a bug in the FIFO circuits. The 16550A and later chips have it fixed. Not so many faulty chips were manufactured. Some other suppliers don't use the 'A' suffix.

Sound Cards

SoundBlaster 16

SoundBlaster 16 Cards with DSP 4.11 have a hardware bug that causes hung/stuck notes when You use WaveBlaster or any other MIDI device. There is no known fix.

Hard Drives

Conner CFP1060S

Some Conner CFP1060S might have problems with some operating systems such as linux. Conner have released a fix fot this problem. Have the microcode (from the drive label) available when contacting them.

Micropolis

Certain Micropolis drives have problem with Adaptec and BusLogic controllers. Contact the manufacturer for firmware upgrades.
